Diversion of traffic
away from Lane Head
There are efforts to reduce emissions in the Lane Head area, particularly from waiting vehicles, as part of a project to improve air quality. We want to see more initiatives put in place to divert traffic away from the area completely.

Preservation of
Highfield Moss
Nature Reserve
Highfield Moss is a small nature reserve at just 12 hectares and located near Lane Head. A rare example of a peatland environment, the reserve is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and is under possible threat from local developments.

Weight restrictions on more local roads
Heavy traffic thunders past our residents’ homes, causing noise and delays, & putting safety and air quality at risk.

Consultations on local development & Wigan Council Plans
Working with our local councillors and contacts within the borough, we are taking part in consultations and discussions on the future of Lane Head.
